Barbara is committed to the principles of health freedom as a way for all people to achieve their optimal health and well-being. Healing comes in many forms and Barbara practices healing modalities which embrace the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of wholeness. She has been exploring the medicinal value of herbs for over nine years and became a Master Herbalist in 2001 with a Diploma in Herbal Studies from the Australasian College of Health Sciences. Areas also studied and practiced include iridology, homeopathy, flower essences, aromatherapy, natural pet care, and nutrition and Ayurvedic diagnostic techniques. She chose to take formal herbal training after a close friend and nurse introduced her to the powerful healing of herbs after experiencing the limitations and dangers of modern (allopathic) medicine.
She teaches classes on various herbal medicine topics, including essential oils. She also does herbal consultations.
Amanohuna is a very high frequency feminine energy that is a compliment to and comparable to Reiki. Amanohuna in Hawaiian means “The Abundance of the Right Way of Life.” It was found in 1984 in Hawaii by Arthur Cataldo, a Missouri-licensed clinical psychologist and certified hypnotherapist, when used together, Amanohuna and Reiki provide a complete, dynamic, balanced healing system more powerful than either one alone. Both Reiki and Amanohuna can be used in conjunction with any other healing modalities, conventional or alternative, and has no side effects. As in Reiki, the practitioner receives attunements in levels with each level adding to the amount of healing Source energy by the practitioner.
She also does Tarot card reading and has found that it has also helped with one’s healing. An Intuitive Tarot reading offers many avenues for guidance, direction and problem solving. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Health Freedom Coalition and served on the board of the North Country Herbalist Guild in 2005.
Barbara has been a Reiki practitioner for seven years and received Amanohuna I attunements in April, 2007. She is also a trained Doula (birth assistant). Barbara received a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire in 1981.
